You might find, when speaking with millionaires — especially self-made millionaires — that there is an element of optimism and joie de vivre. Many millionaires know that if things go wrong, it is possible to find the bright side, learn from mistakes, and move on. Additionally, many millionaires know how to enjoy life as well. Many successful and happy millionaires understand that there is more to live than just amassing wealth; sometimes you need to spend time with your family and friends, eat good food and relax a little. However, the ability to find a silver lining, and to have the persistence to try again, is one of the defining traits of a millionaire.
Take responsibility for the habits you choose to strengthen and cultivate, and ruthless with the habits you choose to cut out. The Basal Ganglia is the part of the brain responsible for the development of habits, while the Prefrontal Cortex is the part of the brain responsible for complex decision making and thought processes.
And there are millions who have journeyed successfully down the wealth path and have become millionaires. Many of them started in worse situations than you find yourself in today. Just look at Mark Cuban (Shark Tank judge and owner of the Dallas Mavericks), Larry Ellison (the billionaire founder of Oracle), Howard Schultz (CEO of Starbucks), Oprah Winfrey, and countless other examples. Going back to Dr. Demartini’s advice, sticking to your highest value will allow you to achieve the type of success you crave. If you value financial wellness and stability, hold off on starting a family until you have attained your financial goals.
At first blush, this sounds a bit counter-intuitive to everything I mentioned above, but if you get to think about it, it’s true. In our desire to reach the finish line as quickly as humanly possible, we strain ourselves to the point that we engage in too many undertakings at the same time, thinking that they will fast-track us to success.

The ads, which featured a Snuggie-clad family roasting marshmallows together and cheering at sports games, quickly became media sensations. Jay Leno, Whoopie Goldberg and Ellen DeGeneres all featured the product on their shows. The buzz has led to Snuggie pub crawls, YouTube Snuggie mockery clips and a lot of gag gifts.
