Remember the analogy that success is an iceberg? No one sees all the blood, sweat and tears of those who have “made it” to the top, but the sacrifices are always there. There is no way around this either. It comes with the territory.

As the market’s performance since the financial crisis underscores, taking advantage of big declines to buy stocks can pay off handsomely. Few of us will be lucky enough to time the next big upward move perfectly. What’s key is that the more share prices drop, the greater the future opportunity. So one way to boost your gains is to set thresholds for buying on the dips. You could do so after a decline of 10%, for example. And if stock prices fall another 10%, buy more.

Here’s the truth no one wants to talk about: Learning how to make money can improve your finances in ways that saving money simply cannot. There are only so many ways to save, but there are an unlimited number of ways to earn extra money you can use to pay down debt, save for the future, or actually have some fun.

The saying, “a penny saved is a penny earned,” isn’t just a play on words; it’s absolutely true. While there may be an emotional or intellectual distinction, your pocketbook doesn’t know the difference. And at the end of the day, all dollars earned or saved spend the same way.

Although a little dated with regards to technology (the book was written mid-90s, so bear in mind what was happening with the internet). Having said that, I believe this how to become a millionaire reddit the reader to keep on track with ideas and how to bring them to fruition, as opposed to being submitted to the ins/outs of website creation and PPC advertising.

  1. I am a member of Wealthy Affiliate and what drew me in was how up front people were about the need to put in the work. I read that you won’t make money right away, but work hard and put in the time, and eventually their will be vast potential to earn income. I like how it was free to start and their was no pushy sales person forcing you to hand over big bucks.
While some of these are great ideas..others, like Mechanical Turk seem to take a lot of time for very little $. The eHow seems to work. Another suggestion while you are looking for work is to list your resume at sites that pay you when potential employers download your resume. They collect a fee and give you part of it. Resumark.com even pays you when people you’ve invited have their resumes downloaded. I think it’s about $1 for your own resume and $.50 for people you’ve invited..again, not going to get rich but might as well get paid for looking for a job!

Fancy yourself a good designer? Try your hand at creating a logo or other design that a company loves! 99 Designs is the most popular marketplace. Beware, however; you won’t get paid unless your logo wins against many others, which makes many designers unhappy. In my opinion, this is a great way for a budding designer to build a portfolio and learn quickly what clients love.
