Unfortunately, the internet is perfectly suited for scammers. The worse of our species now live in our laptop and they are ready to steal from you. The Millionaire Mentor is a particularly nasty scam. It starts out with big promises and a low threshold of entry, only $49. But, as soon as you’re in, the telemarketers go to work on your like jackals.
I have had the opportunity to connect with several as well and it is amazing how many will freely share their knowledge for no charge. We sometimes put up the mental barrier that they don’t want to share their knowledge (especially to someone super young like me) but they are generally eager to what they know.
It is a lot harder when you only have one person working. Yet she has been looking at jobs lately and the pay is sub par. In fact one job was offered to her where if you do the calculations. Including gas, day care, and lunch she earned roughly 5 dollars a day. At that point it isn’t worth her working.
But even if you’re only a tenth of the way there — like the typical worker who’s been investing in a 401(k) for 10 to 20 years, according to the Employee Benefit Research Institute — you can make it in two decades or less, if you save a good chunk of income or earn a decent return.
The biggest advice I can give is to pick a small niche, set up a site and start experimenting. Make mistakes and learn from them. That’s the only way you are going to succeed. Of course, have realistic expectations. It took me more than 1-2 years to start making decent money. But the beauty of it is that once you make that first dollar, you know it works and at that point it just becomes a matter of scaling it up, working harder and smarter to scale up your business.
If you work hard, anything is possible. However, you’d probably need to own an entire chain of mechanics workshops across a country, and offer something extraordinary over and above what other mechanics do for the billions to roll in. Perhaps focus first on improving those grades and broadening your talents before dreaming of your billions; it also pays to realize that money truly isn’t all that matters in life.
For example, let’s say you earn $10,000 a year in your second job and invest all your earnings for ten years. If you let it grow for another 20 years and it earns 8% every year its invested, it would turn into $675,214! Some ways to earn extra income include freelance writing, web design, babysitting, dog sitting, tutoring, and selling jewelry and crafts on Etsy.
Let’s assume for a second that Adrain Newey who is by far the best formula race car designer in the world (a pure genius), writes a super short 21-step tutorial on how to design a world beater race car.

“The great ones are operating at a level of consciousness where fear doesn’t exist,” Siebold writes. “At this level of thought, anything seems possible. Every dream that seems crazy to the masses looks surprisingly doable.”
Correct, it’s not… yet. Remember, the learning never ends. So what if you could get your name in front of not 9% but 20% of dog owners? What if 6% of all of those hire you? And if you begin making $150 per month, on average, from those customers?
This isn’t about finding fair weather friends who are happy for you when you have a great accomplishment and disappear in times of trouble. You need to build this strong network and ecosystem which will support you in times of need and through times of plenty.

Also compelling is Icon PLC (ICLR, $71), an Ireland-based company that helps drugmakers test their products in laboratories and conduct late-stage clinical trials. Pharmaceutical firms are contracting out more of their research to try to bring products to market more quickly and less expensively. That creates long-term “growth tailwinds” for Icon, says Morningstar analyst Stefan Quenneville. Wall Street expects sales of $1.8 billion this year (an increase of 8% from 2015) and forecasts that profits will jump 19%, to $5.25 per share.
“Basically, OpenTable called me and they wanted a software solution to handle storing credit cards, handing the data to restaurants, and being compliant from a regulatory standpoint. I signed a three year deal with them that allowed me to build a team of developers and we built them a solution. We now had more services to sell to customers.”
While this is an unfortunate part of my past, it brings me to point number two. If you want to improve your financial life, you need to get a “battle buddy” – a friend or companion who is fighting the good fight right along with you.
